Well, I’m on hold for a couple potential projects. Yesterday I sent a three-query e-mail to the editor who recently accepted an article from me, but haven’t heard back just yet. I also called yesterday to try to obtain an editorial calendar from Dog World magazine, but haven’t heard back. Their web site seems to contain nothing at all in the way of writers guidelines or an editorial calendar – only guidelines for their sister publication, Dog Fancy.
In other news, last night I was interviewing a subject for a feature article in Chess Life magazine and learned that shock jock Howard Stern is absolutely addicted to chess. Who would have guessed? My subject runs a major chess website and is in regular phone contact with Stern, and even appeared on Stern’s Sirius satellite show back in May. He played an audio clip of the show for me over the phone!
